Laurie Scarborough
Veterinary Practice Manager Laurie Scarborough has been with Northside Animal Hospital since November of 2004 and has a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Management. Asked what she likes most about her work, Laurie says, "It's making a difference in the lives of the clients and their pets. I also really enjoy working here because of the caring and friendly staff."
At home, Laurie has a Chihuahua named Millie and a cat named Lily. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, traveling, cooking, fishing, and scalloping.
Katherine Hemmerick
Veterinary Technician Katherine Hemmerick has been with Northside Animal Hospital since March of 1998. She began her career in animal care in 1993. Her primary responsibilities include caring for our clients' pets in our kennel, assisting the veterinarians during appointments and surgeries, and performing various duties at our front desk.
She says that the most rewarding aspects of her work are caring for the animals as well as the opportunity to always learn new things and improve her animal care skills. Katherine adds that it is also nice to work in an environment where each member of our staff strives to provide high-quality care for our clients' pets as well as the best service to our clients.
Katherine also has an array of pets of her own, which includes a Golden Retriever named Chase, a Himalayan cat named Simbel, a Persian cat named Shuggie, and a domestic shorthair cat named Nonie. She also has a flying squirrel named Glider.
When not working, she loves spending time with her 4-year-old granddaughter and taking care of her various critters.
Brooke Roddenberry
Brooke Roddenberry is a Receptionist who joined the staff of Northside Animal Hospital in May of 2011. She says she enjoys her work with us because, “The staff I work with is awesome! I also really enjoy meeting the clients and all of the unique animals that come through our doors.”
At home, Brooke has a Pitbull named Pixy and a squirrel named Dani this a rescued paraplegic. She likes to spend her free time taking care of her plants (“My new found love,” she says), spending time with her boyfriend Matt and motorcycle riding.
Heather Horne
Heather Horne is a part-time receptionist who joined Northside Animal Hospital in November of 2011. She loves the family atmosphere of the hospital and loves being around all the animals. "We really treat our clients like family," she says. "It's a great place to be, and I'm honored to be part of the team!”
When she's not at the hospital, Heather's activities include spending time with her son, Kameron, cooking, and shopping. She loves traveling, fishing, and just being outside.
Bryan Riner
Veterinary Assistant Bryan Riner joined the Northside Animal Hospital staff in May of 2011 and has been working in the companion animal care field since 2007. “I enjoy working here because of the friendly people I work with and the immense amount of care and attention given to the clients and their pets,” he says.
Bryan’s interests include reading, fishing, bike riding, jogging, golf and spending time with his friends playing sports such as volleyball and basketball, and just generally socializing.
Elena Wells
Elena Wells is a Veterinary Assistant who joined the Northside Animal Hospital staff in May of 2011 and has been working as a companion animal care giver since 2010. She says she enjoys helping the doctors during exams and procedures as well as getting to know our many clients' pets with their unique personalities.
Elena's pets include a Boxer named Z-Bo and two cats named Bella and Jasper. Her interests include following NBA basketball, arts and crafts, church activities, playing guitar, swimming and movies.
Lindsay Johnson
Lindsay Johnson is a Veterinary Assistant who has been with Northside Animal Hospital since September of 2011 and began her career in companion animal care in 2010. "I love the people I work with as well as the opportunity to be around animals and to provide care for them," she says. "I also love the fact that I learn something new every day."
At home, Lindsay has a Chihuahua/Poodle mix named Julio. Her interests include cooking, spending time with her wonderful husband Eli and watching Alabama football.
Holly Paterson
Holly Patterson is a Veterinary Assistant who has been with Northside Animal Hospital since November 16th 2011. She is very excited to be starting a career that involves helping animals.
In her spare time Holly cares for her 1-year-old Mini Dachshund named Levi Tucker, and is going to school for Dental Hygiene. Her interests include fishing, tanning, and riding 4-wheelers.
